Joe William Coufal

Joe William Coufal, 81 of Thalia, Texas passed away on
Friday, June 28, 2024, in Vernon, Texas.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 2,
2024, at First Baptist Church in Crowell, Texas with Mr.
Mike Klappenbach o􀵶 ciating. Burial followed at Thalia
Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Joe was born Friday, July 24, 1942, in Thalia, Texas.
He was the son of the late Joe Coufal and the late
Elizabeth Zacek Coufal. He married Robbie Sandra Scott
on January 1, 1964 in Vernon, Texas. Joe was a farmer
and was a technician for the NRCS Soil Conservation in
Crowell, Texas. He was a member of the Quanah Masonic
Lodge #689, Quanah Council Chapter #450, Quanah
Council #367 of the Grand Lodge of Texas, Vernon Commandry #33, and the
West Texas York Rite. He was also a member of the Red Cross of Constantine of
Wichita Falls, Holy Royal Arch Knights Temple Templar Tabernacle #9, and the
Royal Order of Scottland. Joe was a deacon and member of First Baptist Church in
Crowell, Texas.
Joe is survived by his wife, Robbie Sandra Coufal of the home; one daughter,
Angel Wheeler of Forney, Texas; one son, Charles “Bill” Coufal of Vernon, Texas,
and seven grandchildren, Alexis Synatschk, Abbey Dunn, Taryn Adams, Jayden
Wheeler, Charlie Coufal, Kaymi Zimmerman, and Halley Wheeler. Joe also leaves
behind seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Monday, July 1, 2024, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Sullivan Funeral
Home in Vernon, Texas.
