Grass fire on Sand Road
Vernon Fire personnel were fighting a grass fire, threatening several structures in the 2800 block of Sand Road, on Monday, July 8, 2024.
The fire was reported at around 4:10 p.m. Monday.

Fire Chief Chris Cook said that the fire appeared to have been started by teens setting off fire works in Orbison Park. Multiple fire units were dispatched to fight the fire, that moved quickly through brush and threatened nearby residences. A fire truck was also stationed on the back of the field to protect residences along Kennedy and Cannon roads.
who ever started that is really dumb they could’ve hurt someone or something. Kids/Teens are really dumb these days honestly i remember when i was a kid i use to do dumb crap everyday.
