Scott takes charge of Vernon Boys & Girls Club sports
Kantrona Scott is entering her first season over seeing sports programs at the Vernon Boys & Girls Club, after taking over as Athletic Director for the Club last February.
B&G Club director Sarah Hernadez said the club is proud to have Scott on staff.
“Kantrona has been serving as our Program Director for the last two years when she made history as our very first Black Leadership Staff. As a volunteer coach for our sports program for the last 12 years and her extensive sports background, we feel confident she has the knowledge of our programs and the willingness to learn more and excel,” Hernandez said.
Scott attended Western State College where she was a member of the school’s basketball team. She has three children, Deveon, Iyona and Abrielle. She is a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Vernon.
“We are so grateful for her desire and willingness to uphold our mission to enable all youth, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens through our sports programming,” Hernandez said.
